... BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT TUESDAY...

SLEET AND SNOW WILL CHANGE TO HEAVY SNOW BY EVENING. SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE 5 TO 10 INCHES BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND NORTHWEST WINDS OF 30 TO 50 MPH WILL CREATE WIDESPREAD BLIZZARD CONDITIONS THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON.


... POWERFUL SPRING BLIZZARD CONTINUES THROUGH TUESDAY...

ABUNDANT MOISTURE WILL BE AVAILABLE.... WITH AREAS OF HEAVY SNOW FARTHER TO THE WEST.


SNOWFALL AMOUNTS VARIED GREATLY. ONE COMMONALITY IS THE WIDESPREAD NATURE OF VISIBILITIES LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE.


16 TO 24 INCHES ACROSS NORTHWESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA... 30 TO 40 INCHES IN THE NORTHERN BLACK HILLS... 6 TO 10 INCHES ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN SOUTH DAKOTA... 8 TO 16 INCHES FROM PINE RIDGE TO PHILIP AND FAITH... AND 4 TO 8 INCHES ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA.


BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT OVER MUCH OF THE AREA... LASTING INTO THE DAY ON TUESDAY. WIDESPREAD VISIBILITIES LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE ARE EXPECTED DUE TO 30 TO 60 MPH WINDS.


TRAVEL WILL BE VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY.

THERE WILL LIKELY BE AREAS WITH POWER OUTAGES.
