The locations and lineup of performers for Aboriginal Day Live 2010 have been finalized, and it's worth the wait!
Once again, Canada's biggest National Aboriginal Day celebration will take part on two stages, one in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and one in Ottawa, Ontario. Each stage has its own star-studded lineup of performers!
The Forks in Winnipeg, Manitoba
- Chantal Kreviazuk (contemporary singer/songwriter and pianist)
- Keith Secola (award-winning folk & blues rocker, composer and producer)
- Don Amero (singer/songwriter)
- Red Power Squad (performance artists)
- Jana Mashonee (GRAMMY nominated eight time Native American Music Award winning singer/songwriter/author/actress)
- Tumivut (Inuit throat singing and contemporary music group)
- Hosted by Nathaniel Arcand (from North of 60) and Patrice Mousseau (co-anchor of APTN National News)
Victoria Island in Ottawa, Ontario
- DJ Mad Eskimo (Inuit music meister)
- Digging Roots (Juno Award-winning artists)
- Inez (pop sensation)
- Lucie Idlout (celebrated Inuit singer/songwriter)
- Plex (hip hop artist, emcee, lyricist and producer)
- Kinnie Starr (Juno Award nominated singer/songwriter)
- Hosted by Don Kelly (star of Fish Out of Water) and Jennifer Podemski (from MOOSE TV)
Tune in to the live broadcast on APTN and APTN HD across Canada starting at 7:30 p.m. Central Time. Those in the Winnipeg and Ottawa areas can attend the event; it's free of charge and open to the public. The pre-show will begin approximately 7 p.m. and a fireworks display will take place in Winnipeg at the show's conclusion. Make sure to bring your lawn chair and close out this annual Aboriginal Day celebration with a bang!
