Meet the Author and Guide at the Arlee Powwow, July 4, 2004 2 to 4 p.m. at the Salish Kootenai College Bookstore booth by the dance arbor.Black Plume's Cultural Studies is a non-profit organization operating in the U.S. and Canada to assist in the empowerment of indigenous peoples. "Black Plume's Weasel People" is a product of this non-profit organization. Reggie Black Plume, a Kainai elder (Blood Tribe) of Alberta Canada and Spirit Dancer Oakley of the Tsalagi Nation reside in Montana on the Flathead Reservation. Ms. Oakley provides a refreshing and intimate look into the ancient ways of the ancient Blackfeet with the guidance of her life par
tner, Reggie Black Plume. Mr. Black Plume was raised by the major chief of the bloods, Chief Shot Both Sides and his medicine woman wife, Long Time Pipe Woman, in the 30's and 40's the ancient way. All native peoples and other parties interested in the true ancient practices which have a commonality will treasure this book and keep it for a reference guide.
