DID RUSH SLIMEBALL CROSS THE LINE?
I’ve been very quiet about the political circus that prevails here in
the good ole USA. Then I heard American talk show host Rush Limbaug’s
blatantly racial and gender commentary alluding to the notion a woman
or African American could not possibly be presidential material. I
found it patently offensive, racist and bigoted. Though I’m no fan of
any of the candidates I found Slimeball’s actions during the Democratic
Primaries revolting and an affront to the whole democratic process.
It’s my right not to like candidates and it’s my right not to vote for
them but it’s no ones right to “rig” an election.
On his show he promoted “rigging” the votes in Texas and Ohio only for
the sake of disrupting the election. Though his scheme only garnered a
9% influence on the total votes cast it still was a broad side assault
to the electoral process and democracy. Further, it was an act of
electoral terrorism since it was a direct assault on the will of the
voting people. In essence it was an assault on the Constitution of the
United States of America. AND, for all intents and purposes he promoted
terrorism as defined under the new Homeland Security Laws enacted by
George W. Bush. Rush Limbaug crossed the line and should face the same
scrutiny Ron Imus and Dwayne Chapman had to endure for their lack of
good judgment. Rush Limbaug promoted criminality and should be made
accountable for his actions against the United States of America. What
is good for the goose is good for the gander eh. Fact is, Rush should
face a trial.
With nations struggling to have a democratic and free nation such as
the people of Zimbabwe, (MDC, Movement for Democratic Change) and the
Free Burmese (NLD, National League for Democracy ), it is appalling an
American nationally known radio icon would suggest such a criminal act
on the Holy Grail of true Democracy, the right to vote. Rigging any
election is a crime and in this case it is a crime against the people
of the United Stares of America regardless of political persuasion. It
was an assault on the core tenet of a democratic society. What is the
point of voting if someone rigs an election? Sounds like something the
Military Junta of Burma is trying to do with their Constitutional
Referendum, “rig an election”.
Maybe Rush should go to the National Cemetery. He can view the
grave markers of all the men and women who gave their lives to protect
the right to vote and the Constitutional process. He should visit with
refugees from the world of terror and listen to their tales of human
suffering at the hands of dictators who’ve rigged elections. Then maybe
he will realize how reprehensible his actions were. He undermined the
will of the voting people and denied them the right to be heard and
their votes counted in a democratic fashion.
His support for everything King George W. Bush does should speak for
itself. George managed to side step the Constitution and the Bill of
Rights by passing executive orders giving him supreme rule both inside
and outside our borders. With total disregard for the core tenets of
this nation GW single-handedly torpedoed American Democracy and Rush
was by his side. Silly me, there is no American anymore for it is now
called the “North American Union” or did you hear about this yet? It’s
the by-product of NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement. You
know, the Corporate Trade Agreement that sent millions of Canadian and
American jobs to third world countries while lining the pockets of
corporations, at the expense of the people of course. If you read the
fine print of NAFTA you’d discover this agreement also dissolves
national sovereignty for the sake of commerce. Yup, it’s all about the
money Paisan.
In light of this then maybe Rush is actually a patriot and a hero for
the new North American Union and corporations fore his act of electoral
terrorism has tainted American Democracy in the worst way.
Maybe someone should drop a dime on Rush to his advertisers and the EIB
Network. It worked on Ron Imus and Dwayne Chapman for their lack of
judgment. Their crimes palled in comparison to Rush’s act of
racial/gender bigotry and terrorism. What ever…………..

Buffalohair BURMAS MONKS STAND DEFIANT
BURMA'S MONK'S STAND DEFIANT
Armed with nothing more than absolute faith, a robe and slippers Buddhist Monks have made their position known about the Constitutional Referendum. The stakes are very high. Knowing and surviving the consequences of September’s protest monks stand defiant and have gone on the offensive regardless of the risks.
Hopefully Gambari’s arrival will delay the inevitable government sponsored blood letting that follows when anyone dares to speak out. It is very important the eyes of the world are on them at this time. If the world pays attention they will witness innocent people being murdered, wounded Monks and students skulls crushed with rifle butts or simply executed when the “Thought Police” (USDA) Union Solidarity and Development Association steps in. If this happened in the jungle people would be dissected and hung on branches as a grave warning to obey government rule. Tribal elders have been known to vanish only to be found later mutilated with the head mounted on a stake. Obviously they would show signs of a long and torturous death. Tribal women would be brutalized and raped to death. Ah yes, junta democracy at its best eh.
“Special” decrees are in place by the Burmese government designed to silence free speech and all dialog about this so called Constitutional Referendum. In spite of this, monks have drawn the line in the sand and made their position clear, NO! Is this an exercise in futility where the only reward is death by bullet or rifle butt? Or is this a display of courage, principle and dedication to democracy in the face of insurmountable odds? Granted, for some the reward will be a bullet, rifle butt or bayonet, but it’s a sacrifice they are willing to make, their lives. Patrick Henry of American lore once said, “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death”. Interestingly, this was said during a time when people were struggling with oppression and tyranny, they wanted liberty and freedom. It was the beginning of the Revolutionary War and the birth of America. Patrick Henry was a true patriot and was willing to die for Freedom and Democracy, so are the monks of the AllBurma Monks Alliance. This axiom permeates all patriots wanting a Free Burma.
Monks, students, citizens and tribal people of the jungle and highlands who’ve died from tyranny and torture died as patriots and heroes. When the bamboo curtain is finally drawn and mass graves are finally reveled, then will we respond to the posthumous cries of a murdered nation? Or will they die in vane while we sit by and watch as a civilization becomes extinct?
Sadly humanity has a very bad track record when the lives of innocent people are concerned. No continent or culture has been spared this horrific reality. After all, it’s all about the money and natural resources. Burma rich with oil, gas, gold, uranium and precious stones has been caught up in a feeding frenzy of sorts by the world at large. The lusting for a piece of Burma’s natural wealth has deafened the ears of corporations and nations. Like the Inca, Maya and Aztecs, the Burmese people will be murdered for their land and the treasures it holds. Their history will be erased and their diverse cultures lost forever.

Buffalohair STRONG ARM CONSTITUTION
STRONG ARM CONSTITUTION
As the citizenry of Burma brace for more friendly persuasion tactics by jovial junta officials. The clear need of UN Observers is plain to see. Fact is, there should be an army of observers at this time. It’s nothing short of strong arm politics as usual for the criminal military junta.
Strong arm tactics as well as Mafia style intimidation has already permanently tainted this so called Constitutional Referendum. Likened to a kangaroo court or hanging judge mentality the Constitutional Referendum will be voted in but not from a free thinking society. Rather, it will be voted in by a population who has been intimidated by government and party officials. The consequences are grim if you vote against it.
Three businessmen were arrested by “Thought Police” (USDA) Union Solidarity and Development Association, for simply making a humorous statement about the Governments Constitutional Referendum. The possibility of a 20 year prison sentence looms over their blatant act of free speech if they are charged under Decree 5/96. It is illegal to speak about the Constitutional Referendum anyway. Fact is it’s forbidden to speak about almost anything.
To insure there is no negative commentary what so ever, the junta crime bosses ordered families and associates of 88 Generation Students members arrested as well. Thanda Win, wife of Mya Aye, a leader of the 88 Generation Students group; Hla Moe, husband of 88 group member Mie Mie; Kanet, brother of Marky, an 88 group member; Naing Htwe and May Mie Lwin are the latest victims. Along with about 20 political prisoners, 88 Generation Students leaders Min Ko Naing, Ko Ko Gyi and Pyone Cho are among the college kids facing 20 years in prison for daring to speak out. According to my friend Myat Ko, political prisoners are tortured weekly. He was tortured for 6 years. Let us not forget the 97 political prisoners who’ve simply vanished. This is the real road map to reform, death to all opposition.
The defection of two Burmese child soldiers brought knowledge the Burmese Junta may be using chemical/biological weapons against the ethnic people of Burma. The children gave detailed information about their training and handling of hazardous chemical/biological weapons. With this in mind it is not hard to see why I find it very odd Mon villagers are in the midst of a cholera outbreak. I find it convenient to say the least. That is one way to fix an election, simply contaminate all opposition with disease. As we all know or should know, anything goes for the military junta in Burma. With a policy of killing all witnesses the jungle holds many secrets but some are coming to light.
With all the guards watching over Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s house you’d think this neighborhood was reasonably safe. But for the Figi Coffee Shop owner and his 5 guests who lived in this community death found them. It was only coincidental the coffee shop was a popular watering hole for opposition activists. They were shot execution style in the backs of their heads only a stones throw from Suu Kyi’s home. Just a fluke, intimidation or was it just elimination? In all reality it was assassination at the hands of military hit men.
In direct defiance of all that is junta, Mandalay Monks have gone on the offensive. Their position on the Constitutional Referendum is simple, “VOTE NO!” The All Burma Monks Alliance has issued a harsh and pointed rebuttal to the governments Constitutional Referendum, “We condemn the junta decrees because they wipe out people’s desires and prolong the military rule in the country,” In the ancient city of Amarapura posters are appearing that read, “Killer Than Shwe”, “Free Burma”, “Free Daw Aung Suu Kyi” and one more poignantly read, “If your head is on fire, only you will die. If you endorse the constitution, the next generation will also die.” We can only pray this will not end in blood shed like September did.
Hopefully Gambari will find the need to have outside observers during the election process. And hopefully there will be UN Troops to safeguard all the citizenry who votes on this so called Constitutional Referendum. If it does not pass, people will be executed for failing to vote as ordered, simple as that.
According to the Karen; “If the blood shed does not stop there will soon be no more Karen people” The plight of all ethnic Burmese and those who oppose the military junta also share this fate. Only after all opposition is murdered and left in the jungle to rot, peace will befall Burma because sadly everyone will be dead.
